At the park

Now that the weather is finally nice (at least for now) I feel so liberated! I have so much more energy and Smith loves to go outside and play. Especially when he has friends to play with! There were way too many cute pictures to choose from...

A taste of spring...

Today Smith and I went out to explore the driveway. Its amazing how many things can entertain a one year old. I loved watching him enjoy everything outside.

Trying to decide if he wanted to wear his shoes or not...
His first "taste" of spring... mud
Walking isnt as easy as it looks
but it sure gets him places!!

Happy Birthday to the best little guy in the world!

Today we celebrated Smith's 1st birthday! (Its actually tomorrow) He was so cute as he gobbled down his cupcake and even licked his fingers. He takes after his mother the sweet tooth.

As you can see by some of the pictures he was a little tired because he refused to take an afternoon nap before his party. He must have known what was coming!

This year Smith has learned so many things. His personality is spunky and crazy just like his dad. He started walking a couple of weeks ago, but now is back to just crawling. He still takes steps here and there, but just must think crawling is more fun. He has added another word to his vocab: DOG. he loves dogs, and loves to bark every time he sees any animal. He got his first haircut this week (longtime overdue) and still loves to flirt with the ladies. We cant get enough of this little man. I feel so in love every time I see him or think of him (so pretty much constantly) I feel so incredibly blessed to have him as my baby boy and know he is a very special little kid that will grow up to do great things.

We love you Smitty, Happy Birthday!

is it weird...?

That we cant find a house? Its supposed to be the "best time to buy" right now and we thought selling would be the hard part! As most of you know we put our house on the market and sold it in less than a month which is totally unheard of these days, so we thought maybe we were supposed to hurry and move and that a new house would be just waiting for us to move in... well, we were wrong. I feel guilty even whining about it because it really is such a blessing that we are able to live in my parents house and save money and we have been blessed in every aspect of our lives. So for those of you who are going to just roll your eyes and say, "oh Hannah, you have it sooo easy, count your blessings", just pretend you never read this. Everyone has a right to vent once in a while right? ha ha.  Living out of boxes and not having a space to call your own really takes its toll after a while. Smith even acts unsettled here! Maybe its time to just unpack and set up the crib, and accept that we are in this for the long haul! waaaa waaa waaa. I know...

Passport mugshot

We are heading to Mexico in April and I just found out that we now have to get a passport for Smith! Its so funny for me to think he will have his own little passport. I was laughing pretty hard today as he posed for his mugshot. It was nearly impossible to get him to hold still and turn his head how I needed it. What do you think of Smith's first passport photo?

At least I have bambi to keep me company

I may not get a lot of human visitors in this house but I do get my share of animal visitors. This morning there was a huge blue jay out my window, and this evening as I was doing dishes I glanced up and locked eyes with this enormous beast in my back yard. It scared me half to death, but once I realized what I was looking at I grabbed my camera and made bambi famous again.

Ok, so the other day my mom blogged about "when in doubt throw it out... so I decided to do her a favor and clean out her freezer. She emailed me last night all worried that I threw out important stuff so here is a picture of everything mom! And while I did that, Smith cleaned out your tupperware drawer! :)

We're here!

We closed on Thursday and spent the weekend moving. I haven't been this tired since my mission! We will start house hunting on Wednesday. I am so excited and yet SOOOO nervous about choosing a new home that we might be living in for a very long time (with interest rates where they are, we will probably never want to move!) Smith is pretty excited!

LOTS AND LOTS OF CHANGES!

As our new year begins, life is just getting better and crazier! We are so excited to be starting off on a new adventure in a new place (yet to be decided). For the next little bit we will be living in my parents 7 bedroom home all by ourselves! Its going to be so fun being in Sandy again and going to my old ward where I grew up. We close on our house this friday so cross your fingers and say a little prayer for us that everything works out!
We will be celebrating Smiths 1st birthday this year in March. It seems crazy that we will have a one year old soon! He's not even a baby anymore! This year Smith has learned so much. I firmly believe he is the smartest 10 mo. old baby in the world :) I know every parent says that... He is crawling and cruising all over the place and is the sweetest little rascal. He says "hi", "mama" and "dada", and from time to time he even says the word "drawstring" (Long story). He also is learning the word "Jesus", "up" and "dance" only KC and I would recognize that he is saying a lot of them, but I just love that he constantly tries to communicate.
This summer KC Smith and I will be welcoming baby number 2 into our family. Thats right! Just after Smiths 9 month checkup we found out I am prego, and already feeling anxious and ready to meet our new little one. We couldn't be happier! We will have 2 kids under the age of 2 and Im sure I will be keeping very busy, Hence the reason I have put photography on hold for a little bit until I get a grip on things. Its been hard to keep this one a secret since I am already looking, and feeling pregnant. KC announced it in our sacrament meeting on Sunday so there is no holding back now!
So as you can see, this year will be a very exciting one! We don't know what to expect, and we love it! The unknown has never been so exciting to me.

 Happy New Year!!!

Happy Birthday to my man! DECEMBER 28TH

KC is such a blessing in my life! His birthday always gets jumbled in with Christmas and new years, but I hope he knows he is kind of a big deal :) He turned 30 this year!!!  I am so thankful for him and love him so much (as he knows, because I say it WAY too much) He just makes my life so easy and wonderful! Smith is obsessed with him and wont even look at me when daddy is in the room. I love the bond they share, and the friendship that I see developing between them every day.

Thanks hubby for being you!

GOING...GOING...GONE!

I know everyone says you cant get excited when you get an offer on your house. "So many things could go wrong and it might not end up working out" but I am just going to be excited, and optimistic about the fact that we had our house for sale for less than a month and received 2 offers this week!  After we got the first offer we went to the temple just to make sure we were doing the right thing, and after leaving the temple we both felt really good about everything. It was then that we got the second interested buyer and within 24 hours a second offer. We counter-offered on the first one, and it was accepted! We are moving out in about 4 weeks (we are still trying to decide where to stay until we find a home, but we have several great options to look into) and we are really excited to see where life takes us. This really was proof to us that prayers are answered and that we are supposed to be doing this! I wont go into all the boring details about how perfect this all worked out, not only for us, but for both the buyer and his agent, but I will say that when you trust in the Lord things work out for your good (again, who knows if "for our good" means this will all fall through and we will end up staying here, but regardless, we are learning that we can trust in the power of prayer to be guided!)
