an adventurous week

Today Smith did a face plant off the porch and this was the result. He was sitting right next to me with a popsicle and next thing I knew he was on his face with a broken popsicle.
earlier this week, smith got to work out in the yard with dad and show off his awesome plumbers crack

growl...
We went on a really fun hike up AF canyon and enjoyed the beautiful green mountains. Thanks to the rain here, things are greener than normal! LOVE IT!

Its so nice being able to spend some extra time with KC. We love having him around!

Happy Fathers Day!

Happy Fathers Day KC!
We are so lucky to have you! I already wrote all the mushy stuff I have to say in your fathers day card but I do want to let the world know you are the best!

also...

Happy fathers day to my wonderful dad!

things that remind me of my dad:
(I know these will only mean something to my siblings and parents)

-We always knew someone was going to "end up getting hurt" as mom always reminded us, but we still played your silly games

-"cripper tuddy"

- your not actually "IN THE CAR" because we can hear you yelling "IM IN THE CAR!" and clearly you are still in the kitchen

- newspaper and hot cereal

- priesthood blessings

- homemade popcorn with lots of butter and salt in his big metal bowl

- beep! you cant find me!

- roll out the barrel

- which brings me to the "instrument facial expression"

- four wheelers, boats, and motercycles

- which brings me to getting my entire face and body all scraped up and bloody

- water weenie... if you dare

- guns, cowboy hats, chaps and a vintage holster... Sawmill Sam

- rubbing his feet on everything and everyone

You are great dad! We love you!

I had to include this picture of my Father in Law with KC as a baby. I laugh so hard every time I see KC's smiling face in this picture
Happy Fathers Day Craig!!

KCs un-birthday

For KCs 30th birthday in December I didn't really get him anything because he was going to plan a baseball trip with his friends and go have a boys weekend as his gift from me (what a sacrifice I made huh...) anyway, six months later he finally got that trip. Him and some friends went to Colorado to see the Rockies and hang out. I let him take my camera so he could get some shots with the telephoto... I had some fun editing...

The Climb

Dont ignore what I posted below cause its totally worth looking at, but I had another thought...

This is going to sound so cheesy, but the other day I was listening to the radio and this song (thats playing in the background of my blog) came on. Now, im not normally one to listen to a Miley song, but it caught me on a really hard day (I think it was the very day that KC got laid off) and while listening to it I was so motivated to just make the most of this "climb!" I know this applies to so many people right now, especially to everyone in my family, so listen up!

such a big kid

Smith is growing up way too fast. He loves to draw and looks like such a big kid doing it. He even knows how to hold the marker correctly. He has also learned lots of new words this month like "circle" "star" and "yogurt" and can identify lots of new animals! He is such a joy to be around and really puts into perspective what is important in life. Its crazy how KC and I can be going through such a stressful time, yet I cant imagine being happier. We've been able to spend so much time together as a family and watch Smith learn and grow everyday. I love my family!!

weekend of fun

I forgot to post these from our "Billie Brand" \ "After the bump" photo shoots with my cute nieces. I even did a little pose or two myself :)

recognize this head of hair anyone??
Teague really wanted to participate, so I snapped a quick picture of his cute little self

How about this one?.... ok ok, I allowed it, but he just makes such a cute hair model!

Over the weekend my sister brought her kids to stay with us, and see their dad (who is living with us for a bit working at his new job). I had sooo much fun hanging with my sister for a few days and spending time with her cute kids. Smith enjoyed the company as well and loved eating popsicles with his cousins on a hot sunny day. We also spent some time with my other sisters (Sadie and her family came out from Colorado). I just love all of my sisters so much and wish we could spend more time together. Maybe we wouldn't have to stay up until 4am "catching up" if we were around each other more often :)

Smith loves to hang out with Grandpa Jewkes on the swing.

He also quite liked cozying up in my sisters dog's kennel... kind of gross

but most of all, he loved playing outside with his cousins and eating popsicles

I think Jack looks like a little model in this last picture (the boy on the far left)

A day in the life of Smith

Ok, so Im posting a million pictures of my kid again, but deal with it! He is my world. What else can I do? And how can you resist THIS face??

Takin a snooze in mommys bed

He is at that age where everything is a dramatic issue. When he figured out how to dump the water out of his sippy he thought he was in heaven...

until the water was gone... then he threw a 10 min tantrum on the porch while I took pictures... ha ha
