news about twos

So far having two kids has been easier than I thought... granted Miles is still sleeping most of the day, and giving me necessary time to adjust to the change and new schedule, but I kind of expected total chaos from the beginning. I will admit I am extremely sleep deprived, stressed about nursing, reflux and stressed about Smith's new over the top dramatic temper tantrums, but overall, I am really enjoying having two to love, feed and cuddle :)

I tried napping today and in the first 15 min got woken up three times once by each of the boys and the third by the neighbors screaming baby coming through on MY baby monitor... yes, it was super annoying. (and she must be doing some sort of sleep training because the kid cried and screamed forever and I finally had enough sense to get up and turn the monitor off) Then in the second half hour I got a phone call, turned my phone off fell asleep for ten more min and then Smith woke up delusional searching for his blanket, and after laying in bed again only to hear the neighbors dogs start attacking each other sooooo I gave up on the nap.

Miles Smiles

I finally got around to taking some more pictures of my new little one. He is the most gentle, wonderful, sleepy baby and never makes a peep. He even gave us a few gas smiles here and there!

I love love love his pointy little bum

KC hated the hat, but I thought it was cute... so there...

He's here! Miles Edison Stayner

When I left off my last post, I was dialated to 4cm... well, turns out when we thought my water broke it had only partially ruptured so we waited hours for nothin! When the doctor broke my water I went from 4cm to 10cm in an hour and pushed for 15 min and little Miles joined us at 7:55pm. I didnt feel an ounce of pain for the full 11 hours I was in Labor. How cool is that?! I love modern medicine!

As you can see, we did decide on a name change, so sorry for those of you who were planning on meeting Knewton Cru... but meet MILES EDISON in all his smushed face glory! :)

We are a family of 4 now!
Gotta love that dark hair

This is when we first met... my favorite moment
Our fat faced munchkin man
Proud big brother Smith couldn't get enough
He loves his toes
What a proud dad

No Baby Yet!

We got the call at 6:30 am that we were good to come in and start the induction. I took my time spending a little extra time with Smith and thinking about the events ahead... We arrived at the hospital around 8:30 and by 9:00 I was hooked up to the "juice". With Smith I waited quite a while before getting the epidural so I figured I would just go ahead and get it early this time, but now I'm regretting that decision a little because I'm sitting in this bed completely unable to move and feeling a little loopy (I had the anesthesiologist come in and lower the dose cause I was starting to feel like I was on another planet) Ive decided I would rather feel the contractions for a while, then be numb this long. call me masochistic but its a little annoying having to tell KC to put my foot back on the bed for me. Now its 5:45pm and I am just now dialated to 4cm. I just updated my facebook status out of pure boredom and now im blogging... more updates to come

Its hard to believe

that Smith is longer going to be our "baby" as of Tuesday... It makes me sad to think that he is growing up so fast, and yet its so fun and exciting at the same time. He has been such a great little boy. He is wanting to be more and more independent now and sometimes it scares us that he needs our help less and less now. I think he knows the baby is coming cause he sure is starting to act like a big brother already!
we love you Smitty! Dont grow up too fast!!

It started as an innocent summer day playing in the pool while KC did some yard work, but we all know that a 1 year old + dad + water and dirt = one big mess!

nice to know that I can just rest my swollen feet while dad cleaned up the whole mess.... right??... uh huh. in my dreams :) Just thought I would gross you out with some pictures of my play dough feet again. Yes, those are thumb prints in my feet.
