Smiths friends and homies

This month we took on the challenge of bringing a puppy into our home. My friend is in the middle of a divorce and could not keep her dog, so I decided since we have been discussing whether or not to get one, this would be a good opportunity for us to try it out! For the first few days we thought she was a keeper. She is an amazing, well behaved dog and oh so cute... but day by day I started to get a lump in my throat thinking about the damage a dog does to your yard, and the fact that my kids were half her size (and she was only 4 mo. old!) so we decided to help my friend find her a new home. She was only with us 2 short weeks but I almost cried when the new family came and got her. She was so fun to have around!

the kids seemed to really like her, but were a bit intimidated by her size, so they enjoyed her more from the other side of the window

Luckily my kids are still enjoying each others company without the dog around. The other day I went downstairs to check on the boys and found them watching t.v. like this...

It reminded me of when I used to lay in Mollie's lap and make her play with my hair.

oh and I had to throw this picture in as well.

Smith has been really into playing with tiny figurines. I thought maybe we should buy him some G.I joes but KC just pulled out his collection of "homies" that he got out of vending machines from his college years (yes... college) and Smith has been LOVING them. he has named all of them, and there are a few names you might really appreciate (unless you dont know my family, then you wont find the humor in this)

this is "Brandon" (dont know if he means B Payne, or B Stephens)
even after trying to convince him this one looks more like uncle Adam, he is still determined to call it "Paul"
This of course is "Charlie"... who else?? :)
meet bubba, wearing his official "homie" t-shirt
These two below have been known to be called "two mommies" when they are together, but mostly he calls them "Allison"
and best of all, he calls this one Nenew (which is his grandma newtons nickname) who is known to have ridden in a wheelchair from time to time. She came over this week and seemed ok with the idea that she is being compared to a wheelchair home boy....
word up granny. :)
