KC ran his second marathon on Saturday and we couldn't be more proud of him! He did even better than he thought (his goal was 3.10) by crossing the finish line at 3 hours 8 min! He qualified for Boston again and plans on running the Boston marathon in April of next year.
these pictures are a little out of order, but you get the idea :)

he had some big fans waiting for him at the finish line

The story: It was quite the day! Lets just say that getting there was NOT half the fun because on my way to the race my sick little Smith coughed while eating goldfish crackers and sucked one right down his throat. I ended up swerving off the freeway ready to do the Heimlich maneuver when all of the sudden puke started POURING out of his mouth. I pulled over into an abandoned parking lot that was flooded, and while I was cleaning the car out Smith decided to run through the puddle soaking his only clothes not covered in puke. go mom.
I got him as clean as I could and headed back on the road. After all, there was no way he would smell worse than his sweaty dad right?
We got to the race and walked to the finish line just in time to meet up with my parents and watch him cross the line. He was beaming from in the inside out. I could tell he had a really good race. He was super excited to have reached his goal time and we were so happy for him! We met up with KCs parents at the finish line who had followed him in the car pretty much the entire race cheering him on with their cute signs, and taking pictures.
Smith also threw up on the way home... I guess his gag reflex was going a little crazy with the smell of dried puke in his car seat. By the time I got home I felt like I was the one who ran the marathon. KC didn't even seem phased when he crossed the finish line. He acted like it was his every day run. which by the way, he hasn't missed ONE day (other than sundays) in a year and a half!!
Summer days
