6 months of motherhood bliss!

I cant believe my little buddha is already 6 months old! Time has flown by. Like they say, time flies when you are having fun, and this kid is a blast! I cant get enough of him. He has a perma grin on his face and laughs out loud over anything. He loves to eat, and is sitting up like a champ (except for the time that he fell on his face at mollies wedding right before family pictures) Smith adores him and looks forward to seeing him every morning when he wakes up. I can already tell they have such an amazing bond. There is no greater blessing in this world then being a mom, and I am just so grateful for this -not so little anymore-bundle of joy!

Reality

Something about that picture of Mollie and My dad below makes me want to cry every time I look at it. I thought maybe it was because Mollie looks like she is going to cry, or because she is the last of the kids to be married off... I wasn't sure at first but then I realized the whole reason I got teary eyed is because of my DADS face. If you know my dad, you know he is always giving advice and praising us... and I know that is exactly what he was doing in that picture. being HIM! and it made me want to capture more AS THEY ARE moments in my life, because those are the pictures that I cherish forever. So I did a little experiment... I snuck out and without looking into my camera I followed Smith around and took pictures as he ran from me (as he always does) I just held the camera out, and while still interacting with him I snapped away. It didn't exactly capture one of those priceless moments, but I sure got some cute REAL smiles out of him :) If only someone would invent a camera you could implant into your eyeballs to catch memories of life how it really is... there would be some pretty embarrassing pictures of me out there...

Good Morning!

I love Sunday mornings when the kids get in bed with us and we can just lay around and be lazy and play all together. Smith and Miles are forming such a bond. Smitty LOVES to hug and kiss his baby brother, and hes getting pretty good at holding him (and helping him roll over when he gets stuck on his belly)

I just cant imagine my life without these two. They bring me so much joy!

A December to remember

I finally got some photo software so I can access the photos I took in December. woohoo! here are some of the December events you missed :)

Dont worry, Ive been keeping up on Miles' monthly photo shoots.
Here is Mr. December!
Whenever someone makes eye contact with him, his whole face lights up with a huge smile
He loves to skreech like a little bird
and sometimes I swear I can see into his soul through those huge eyes

we spotted several Christmas characters at Grandma Newton's Christmas party...

including some of his adorable reindeer!

Smith wondered if Santa himself might show up...
sure enough, he did! Smith loved him, but refused to show any emotion while sitting on his lap
(could they look any LESS excited??)

He attempted to play some Christmas carols...
I adore this long lashed boy
and so does his baby brother
even though he loves to scream in his face and suprise him
Miles' has a great sense of humor about it all
Smith has become quite the artist. He loves to color.
and Miles has also found a new love...
thanks to his big brother
He got his first taste of sugar this month!
but they are sure to "act dumb" like nothing ever happened, so they dont get caught
We also ventured out into the cold to see the lights at temple square
brrrrrrrrrr

lost and found

Its been weeks since I last posted and lots has happened! KC got a job!!! He works for Arlington Scientific selling a really cool camp stove called the volcano grill. It sells itself pretty well, but adding KCs skills to the company is sure to help :) We are just sooo thankful to have a paycheck, and that our prayers were answered.

My mother in law called me to make sure I wasnt overwhelmed because I hadnt updated my blog like usual :) No Im not overwhelmed, I just cant be my usual picture taking, blogging self ever since my computer crashed and I lost all of my photo software! I will be re-installing it once I work out a few more bugs in my computer, but in the mean time I found a bunch of pictures on KCs camera that I had ignored all this time because I had only been using my camera. enjoy!

The Jewkes Christmas party

Santa looked a lot like our future brother in law Adam

Miles had his first role in the Jewkes family manger scene as "little lamb"

And Smith as a wiseman
it was quite the show
